QUESTION

We are having an issue where Gmail is continually marking an email from one of our trusted senders as spam – how do we fix this?

ANSWER

Please visit Gmail.com and login to your account.
In the list of Folders to the left of your emails, click the More link to show all of your folders.
Now click the Spam folder from the list.
Find the emails you wish to mark as not spam, and click the checkbox next to each message.
Now click the Not Spam button at the top of the list, and these messages will be moved to your inbox.

Sometimes after the first time you do this, the email from that sender will be successfully white listed, and you will not have to do this again. Other times, it may take 2 or 3 times of checking the box, and clicking Not Spam to convince Gmail to whitelist the address for you.

It is always a good rule of thumb to keep an eye on your Spam folder to make sure you don’t miss any important messages that Gmail mistakenly marked as spam 😉
