BUT! If you need to talk to ATT directly for anything, you most certainly can do so –
The best bet we have found for quickly talking to a human is as follows:
- From any phone, dial 800-331-0500
- At the first voice prompt, say “I need help making a call“
- When prompted for your phone number, enter or say your cell number
- The voice response system will say it is pulling up your account info
- The voice response system will ask you if you are calling for your line, or your company’s wireless service: say “MY LINE“
- Then the system will either:
- Prompt for a PIN Code, and you can answer “I don’t have one”
or - Tell you they are sending a temporary PIN code to your phone number, and then prompt you to enter that PIN code once you receive it.
- Prompt for a PIN Code, and you can answer “I don’t have one”
- From there, you will be able to continue and get support and be able to set up a permanent PIN code to use going forward.
Your name is tied directly to your cell phone number, so when asked, simply tell them your name and number, and you will be able to get whatever you need.
Sometimes they will ask you to confirm the last four digits of your phone’s IMEI number.
This can be found on iPhone, under Settings, General, About.
On Android, it is under Settings, About.
