Outlook cannot connect to your outgoing smtp email server

RESOLUTION / NOTES:
Several of our customers who utilize Qwest DSL as their ISP (Internet Service Provider) have called with issues where their email client is coming up with errors like cannot connect to outgoing mail server.
The issue appears to be that Qwest has updated their network settings to not allow outgoing email to be sent over the standard outgoing mail port of 25.
Updating your outgoing mail server port to 587, seems to alleviate the issue.
